Formula One will return to Mexico for the first time in 23 years after it was announced the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will be included on the 2015 calendar. (SNTV)
After a 23 year absence, Formula 1 is set to return to Mexico following the announcement that the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will be included on next year's race calendar.
The deal was confirmed by events company Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE) at a press conference today.
"Start your engines, F1 will return to Mexico next year. This is Mexico's time," CIE president Alejandro Soberon told reporters.
Formula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone was not present for the annoucement, but did send a message welcoming the return of the Mexican grand prix.
