The widespread legalization of marijuana is no longer the unlikely proposition it once seemed to be. While Uruguay has initiated the debate, other countries and states are starting to follow suit.
One state in Mexico is currently in the process of legalizing the medical use of marijuana. The state of Jalisco, which borders the Pacific Ocean in the central part of the country, will most likely have a plan in place by the end of the year.
Political analyst Laura Carlsen joins from Mexico City us to discuss the effects of the marijuana legalization movement in Mexico.
