Leonel Rivero Rodríguez, Nestora Salgado's lawyer, reported that the Superior Court of Guerrero (TSJ) committed to streamline the judicial processes against Nestora Salgado García, Comandante of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities-Communal Police (CRAC-PC), who is now being held in Tepepan Prison [Mexico City].

In an interview, Rivero Rodríguez said that he spoke with the Secretary General of Agreements [lawyer, manages/verifies documents in the judicial process], Juan Sánchez Lucas, and Judge Vicente Rodriguez Guerrero. During the meeting, "there was an opportunity for expressing our concern about how the judicial processes are progressing, such that Nestora could leave prison in the coming months."

Rivero Rodríguez reported that the unexplained delay caused by the judges at Tlapa [located in the mountain region; 125 kilometers from Chilpancingo, 2 hr 15 min by car] and "we agree on giving appropriate impetus to the cases in which immediate notifications to witnesses, victims, and even to [forensic] experts must be sent, and they committed to act as soon as possible to carry out the scheduled hearings."

Rivero recalled that still pending are three legal motions filed to gain Nestora's release. The motions deal with the fact that her 'probable responsibility' in the crimes for which she faces charges has not been proved, that all the people who say they are 'aggrieved' have not been notified [of the careo, face-to-face confrontational meeting that is part of the judicial process] and that by proving her U.S. citizenship, "she was never given the opportunity to receive consular assistance from that country."
