Government Secretary Miguel Ángel Osorio said that the federal government continues with the investigations to re-capture Mexican drug lord Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, sources reported.

He added that those who committed crimes like corruption and complicity with organized crime will be punished.

Meanwhile, the country's General Attorney Arely Gómez, said that since his escape last July 11th, she has personally led the investigations, which follow two lines: one related to the events inside the prison and another one related to the events outside.

She said that over the next days, the General Attorney's Office will inform about the advaces in the investigation of El Chapo's escape, who broke out of prison through a 1 km-long tunnel that led him to a house under construction.

She added that the both El Chapo's escape and the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa teachers 11 months ago, deserve a deep response in which the federal government is working on.
