56% of Mexicans think the government should increase border controls against illegal immigration on the Mexico–Gutemala border; while only 10% believes security should not be tighter.
The National Migration Survey, conducted by the Applied Research and Opinion Division of the Institute of Legal Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), revealed that 40% of Mexicans feel that the rights of foreigners are somehow respected.
...When questioned about foreigners living in Mexico, 45.4% stated they contribute to national economy, while 24.6% said that they take jobs away from Mexican nationals, 14.4% declared that they contribute to insecurity and 20.5% concluded foreigners should pay more taxes than Mexicans.
