The Islamic State group released this Wednesday a new chilling “Hollywood-quality” video threatening to carry out attacks in 60 countries, including Mexico.
The new video was produced in English and posted on social media, and it includes a photo of the flags of the countries the Islamic State group is menacing, although it says the main focus is against United States, Russia, Iran and Turkey.
Mexico is the only Latin American country being threatened by the extremist group, and it is apparently due to a list the U.S. government recently published of all the countries that in one way or another are participating in the coalition against the Islamic State group.
In late September, Aristegui Noticias revealed that the U.S. government had released a list of countries collaborating in the Washington-led coalition. Mexico appeared as the only Latin American country on that list, which explained that the countries enlisted had pledged to aid in various ways, including politically, aerial bombings, military equipment and humanitarian assistance.
It is not clear how Mexico is contributing. The U.S. list of collaborating nations was released Sep. 19.
In the video, the Islamic State group says they have supporters in every country in the world and their group is integrated by people from different races and nations.
