Mexico City has presented a life-sized replica of the famous Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, a project that will allow all in the capital to enjoy this iconic Heritage of Humanity.
"The Sistine Chapel, one of the Vatican museums that annually attracts vast numbers of visitors, has been recreated at 100 percent its real size in Mexico City," the city government said in a communique.
The replica is located beside the Monument of the Revolution in the heart of the city, and consists of a three-dimensional structure with giant photographic reproductions of the chapel's interior.
The Sistine Chapel as reproduced in Mexico City has a height of 22 meters (72 feet), a length of 67 meters (187 feet) and a width of 28 meters (92 feet), and occupies a total of 510 sq. meters (5,480 sq. feet), the note said.
