INFINITI Mexico Celebrates Its First Academy Winner INFINITI

After two days of fierce competition in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Alexandros Paleologos emerged as the first ever Mexican INFINITI Engineering Academy winner.

A packed closing ceremony at the Museo Descubre, Aguascsalientes, saw 24-year-old Alexandros Paleologos from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico City, celebrate a hard fought win in front of invited media, business leaders and government representatives.

Over 1,300 students registered for the Academy in Mexico, with the ten best candidates going head to head on the day in this Regional Final. The group took on four challenges, including a factory design challenge lead by Armando Avila, Vice President for Manufacturing at Nissan Mexico and project leader for INFINITI’s new production facility ‘COMPAS’.

“To say that I am excited is an understatement. To work in the UK at this level of automotive and motorsport engineering is a life changing experience,” said Paleologos. “I want to thank INFINITI and all those involved for this opportunity. I look forward to bringing back new skills and learnings to my university.”

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

The Infiniti Engineering Academy is a unique opportunity to secure a once in a lifetime work placement across automotive and Formula One engineering. Split equally between Infiniti (6 months) and the Renault Sport Formula One™ Team (6 months). Selected students will go through an integrated training and mentoring programme with world leading engineers. The placement includes return travel to the UK, shared accommodation, a shared Infiniti premium executive vehicle, full salary and all necessary employment processing and permits.
