While urban graffiti is looked at as a nuisance in many big cities, the Mexican authorities have given artists official permission to showcase their art and help revive parts of their city that have been forgotten.
Seventy graffiti artists have participated in an international event called the "Meeting of Styles." Muralists have gathered to give Mexico City a new look. It's meant to give graffiti artists a platform to exchange ideas, and is held in various cities around the world.
The idea for the Meeting of Styles network began in 1990's in the city of Wiesbaden, Germany.
