El Medico en Tu Casa: Doctor House Call Program in Mexico City Is Saving Lives goCDMX

El Médico en Tu Casa (Doctor in Your House) is an unprecedented program in the country, through which health brigades, integrated by professionals such as doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and dentists, among others, walk door-to-door in various colonies of the 16 Delegations in Mexico City. The services are completely free, including medicines and lab work.

The objective of the program is to locate and identify people who, due to their health condition, can not be transferred to medical centers for their care. Mainly, it is dedicated to the elderly with mobility problems, people with disabilities, pregnant women without prenatal care and patients with terminal illnesses. However, if you require medical attention you can call the mobile medical units of the Ministry of Health to receive specialist care as well.

...The only requirement is to be affiliated with a program of Free Medical Services and Medicines in CDMX or the System of Social Protection in Health of the DF (Seguro Popular).
