Mexican fixed line operator Telmex (America Movil) has announced a number of changes to its Infinitum-branded series of ADSL and fiber-based broadband plans, eliminating the basic 10Mbps offer and automatically doubling the download speed for all clients.
The basic offer is now a 20Mbps plan for MXN 389 a month, which also includes 100 minutes of landline calls and 200 minutes of calls to Mexican mobile numbers. The three other plans come with unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles and range from 40Mbps download for MXN 599, to 100Mbps for MXN 999 and 200Mbps for MXN 1,499 a month.
America Movil's CEO Daniel Hajj recently announced that the company could get regulatory approval for the separation of Telmex into retail and wholesale operations by the end of 2017.
