Update: MORENA Goes After Presidential Elections in Mexico (Prensa Latina)

The leader of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, has accused former President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa of taking bribes from Odebrecht.

During a visit to San Luis Potosi state, recalled the agreements approved by Calderon's government and Pena Nieto's one in favor of Odebrecht exceed USD $5bn.

He estimated that the USD $4m that Emilio Lozoya, ex-manager of Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), would have received during the 2012 elections, is very likely to have used them during Enrique Peña Nieto's election campaign, he said.

In the absence of an efficient judicial action, he considered that former President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa is still protected. It is an association of complicity, compromise, that is why impunity and corruption prevails.

While Lozoya, investigated for allegedly taking bribes, he denied any links to the acts and reiterated that his personal assets is legal.
