Mexican cartel fighting the army (The News Mexico)
The shocking video begins as the shootout is well under way, as the sound of gunfire rings out loudly.
Shot by a shocked witness holed up in a nearby shop, the clip shows an army vehicle screech into view with soldiers rattling hundreds bullets toward the cartel vehicle.
Soldiers leap out of the vehicle and continue fighting the violent gang on foot, using nearby parked cars and buildings as cover.
After more than a minute, the dramatic scene comes to an end as shouting military-men slowly approach their target to check the coast is clear.
The vicious gunfight is thought to have been filmed in the city of Rio Bravo, in Mexico’s troubled north-eastern principality of Tamaulipas.
A local media source claimed the gangsters had somehow managed to flee the scene.
