The staff and patients at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center's Division of Pediatric Oncology want you to remember that you're beautiful - even if you're dealing with cancer.

Watch in the video above as the courageous patients and selfless staff at the hospital dance and lip sync to "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction.

According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer is the leading cause of death among U.S. children under 14. About 1 to 2 children out of 10,000 will develop a form of pediatric cancer each year. In 2007, about 10,400 children under 15 were diagnosed with the disease and about 1,545 children died.

There are 12 major types of childhood cancers, but about half of the new cases are types of leukemia or cancers of the brain and central nervous system. Leukemia accounts for one-third of call childhood cancers, with the most common type being acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Though there has been an increase in the number of children being diagnosed with forms of invasive cancer, death rates have declined and 5-year survival rates for most cancers have increased. In 1975 to 1977, the 5-year survival rate was 58.1 percent. That number jumped to 76.9 percent in 1996 to 2003.
