For the 50th consecutive year, thousands of Christians took to the streets of Mexico City to celebrate Resurrection Sunday.
Marching down the avenues of Mexico City for Easter became a colorful Christian tradition in the 1990s, mixing banners and music with prayers for the nation.
This year, Mexico's "Glory March" focused on issues of social injustice.
"It's like when the Israelites came out of Egypt or when they reached the walls of Jericho. That's what this event, this 'Glory March' represents to me," one attendee said.
Residents came to the capital from all over Mexico to celebrate Easter and to pray for their nation.
"Because we believe that our country needs to learn to seek Jesus Christ," Christian marcher Carlos Quiroa said. "To recognize Him as Savior and asking forgiveness for the sins of the nation."
The seven-mile march down some of the principal avenues of the city led participants to a prayer and worship event in the city center.
During the rally, Mexican lawmaker Rosi Orozco urged the crowd to protest human trafficking in the country.
"As Martin Luther King said, we were all created equal. Nobody has the right to say that someone should be a slave," she told the crowd.
Those attending this year's march hope their message and prayers will have a positive impact on the entire nation.
