Poo WiFi is a machine that offers a free wifi connection in exchange for dog poo. After they’ve picked up their dogs’ excrement, people can drop the poop bags in a special box on top of the machine, after which the machine offers a number of minutes of free wifi, depending on the weight of the poo. Check out the video to see how it works.

MEXICO CITY - An advertising company in Mexico City said it would trade free Wi-Fi for dog waste in a bid to encourage owners to clean after their pets.

Special receptacles, already installed in ten parks in the capital, calculate the weight and provide all visitors with a corresponding number of free Wi-Fi minutes.

“More dogs - more minutes,” the company said in its ad, saying that 70 grams of dog waste would be rewarded with 20 minutes of free Wi-Fi for everyone in the area.

It is unclear how the receptacles would distinguish dog waste from other types of garbage that might be thrown into it.
