Social networking has become the main activity of internet users in Mexico in 2013, surpassing email and instant messaging, reports El Economista. It said 91 percent of internet users in Mexico have accessed social networks during 2013, against 86 percent a year ago.
The figures emerge from a study by the Internet Project (WIP) in Mexico. Email is used by 85 percent of Mexican internet users, a drop of 2 percentage points compared with 2012, while instant messaging platforms registered a fall from 67 percent in 2012 to 47 percent in 2013.
