In appreciation for the great support to the indigenous communities, representatives of the indigenous groups in and around Puerto Vallarta visited Magaly Fregoso, President of DIF.

Among the priority projects of the DIF System Puerto Vallarta, headed by its President Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, is the rescue of values found in the family and the traditions of the Mexican culture through the various indigenous ethnic groups.

Currently, the social assistance agency of DIF has a permanent link between the ethnic groups that reside in this destination, who spent days sharing with vallartenses and visitors the richness of their gastronomy, dances, costumes, music and crafts under the coordination of Marcelo López Hernández.

The celebration took place in Hidalgo Park which was filled with color, flavor and folklore of indigenous peoples who, during 15 days, received nearly 800 visitors on average each day and showed them the magic of handcarved wooden looms, of their craftsmanship and medicinal plants, as well as the charm of the dances that fill the spirit.

In appreciation for the great support to the indigenous communities, representatives of the groups headed by Agustina Lazaro of the ethnic group Náhuatl, Rogelio Sosa of Zapotec ethnicity, Humberto of Otomi ethnicity and Placida Tepetate accompanied by about 60 indians who participated in the exhibition, met at the offices of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) with the President of the institution and presented various gifts.

Magaly Fregoso received each of the beautiful crafts that now occupy a special place in the new facilities of DIF and effusively thanked them by affection and enthusiasm which promotes the greatness of their communities and that are very high in the richness of Mexico through their work.

They also expressed that municipal DIF is for everybody and that the link with Marcelo López will take care of the benefits of the various programs to reach even the most remote communities, and in their own language.
