PUERTO VALLARTA - Claudia Bremer, the Mexican artist born in Chihuahua in 1983, will display an LGBT art exhibition during Vallarta Pride 2013, on Saturday, May 25th at 6:00PM at the El Dorado Beach Club.
Claudia Bremer began studying art in high school and took art classes in Ensenada, Baja California before attended college in El Paso, Texas (UTEP), where she was awarded three grants, two of which were for her work as an artist.
In 2006 she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with specialization in painting and metal. During that year, she presented her first solo exhibition, entitled Uno por Uno, Pintura a Peso which was well received and made a record as the first show at UTEP to be completely sold out.
During that period, she worked on many cultural projects and learned more about working as a curator, murals and marketing artwork.
From 2007-2009 she managed galleries in El Paso and Puerto Vallarta. During this period, she was also granted a scholarship from Sotheby's International Mexico and held another solo exhibition called Auto-retrato sin el Pintor in Puerto Vallarta.
In 2010, she entered the Master of Arts program at UTEP and in the same year won the Incubator Program Award granted by the City of El Paso Museum and Cultural Affairs Department. Because of the award, she created her fourth solo exhibition, titled Cheap Champagne, at the Union Gallery in El Paso. In 2013, she graduated with a Master of Arts and the solo exhibition, The Time of the Espectator.
Artist Claudia Bremer has won awards nationally and internationally and has exhibited her work collectively in Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez, El Paso, Anchorage, Las Vegas and Santa Fe, among other cities.
