June 1st is Navy Day across Mexico, celebrating a history that started with the birth of the nation in 1821.
This year, the Navy here in Vallarta has asked the Vallarta Yacht Club to host a regatta as part of the full day local celebration.
In recent years. Navy sailors have participated in regattas including the April WesMex regatta and 2012 Copa Mexico.
We consider it an honor that they have selected the VYC to host an event in which local sailors will compete in Opti's, Lasers, Windsurf classes.
Lake Chapala Opti sailors will be traveling here to participate in this fun event to celebrate the day.
We expect a total of 35 boats to be part of this event.
