Adopted:

Jason Hunt contacted us after he and his partner moved to Vallarta in October and realized they missed having a feline friend in their lives. On a recent trip out to the PuRR shelter, it was obvious that Jason and a little cafe latte male had an immediate bond. That adoption had "no brainer" written all over it! But then there was a beautiful, blue-eyed older female that was also very determined to get his attention...and she did. He ended up taking BOTH cats (now named Xander and Chloe) home in time for them to have a truly Feliz Navidad! Meow.

If you would like to see some of our dozens of adoptable felines, contact us at visit@purrproject.com to sign up for a Shelter Tour. Or look for us at the SATURDAY MARKET at the Paradise Community Center on Pulpito in Old Town from 10 to 2!

Can't adopt now, but want to volunteer? If your are interested in this very rewarding experience, there are many ways in which you can volunteer. Contact adoption coordinator Linda "Bama" Brasseal at lbrasseal@yahoo.com. The kitties will be forever grateful!

Visiting PuRR Project:

We never tire of Dave Robertson's weekly report on his visit to the shelter. The last few weeks he has escorted other folks interested in seeing the shelter firsthand. This week he writes:

"The kittens as usual got attention, but the general population also had a great day. People sitting with them, allowing them to climb all over them – all that stuff they really like. Somi was quite the little gadfly when she was not on my shoulder. She was visiting everyone, trying to get a pickup. A couple of cats figured how to open the lid on the catnip and were rolling it around to get it to come out of the holes in the inner lid. Pretty smart if you ask me! Everyone appeared to have a good time with the cats. When we left we were escorted to the gate and had to pay the 'exit fee' to the cats waiting for one last scratch, rub or pet. Of course Somi was there to send us off. 'Til next week...Dave"

If you are interested in joining a weekly Wednesday afternoon trip to the PuRR Shelter, please contact coordinator Marilyn at exkhan@usfamily.net for more information.

Dali waits in the shelter for her new parents

Featured Feline:

Meet "Dali"...named after Salvador Dali and just as surreal, this beautiful black & white kitten is so soft and fluffy and sweet natured that we cannot believe she has been passed over at several adoption events! She has the classic tuxedo markings and a little "lady moustache". She's about six months old now and of course spayed and vaccinated and ready to thrive in a loving home. Please contact adoption coordinator Linda Brasseal at lbrasseal@yahoo.com if you are interested in meeting Dali or any of the many other kittens and adult cats available from our shelter.

PuRR Project is a no-kill cat shelter located just north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with approximately 260 resident felines. Safe shelter, food, healthcare, sterilization, and even toys are all provided to our rescue animals through the generosity of people like you.
