The Port Administration (API) delivered a boat donation to the Lifeguards of Puerto Vallarta's Civil Protection and Fire Department, with the aim of strengthening the team of rescuers.
The boat has a capacity to move 4-5 people and the rescue equipment is in optimal condition to continue in operation for several more years, which will help to have more efficiency in service and reducing Lifeguards' response time.
The rescue group already had a boat and two jet skis which are divided into three zones for surveillance. Now, with this new donation unit, they will be able to serve four areas to provide better care in Banderas Bay for citizens and tourists.
The boat delivery event was attended by the CEO of the Port Station, Casarrubias Alex Garcia; the Municipal Tourism Director, Carlos Gerard Guzman; Commissioner of the Preventive Police and Roads, Roger Hernandez; Deputy Director of the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection, Fire and Lifeguard, Sergio Ramírez López; and Notary Public No. 6, Sergio Ramirez Brambila, who gave legality to the delivery of the vessel along with Nancy Miliza San Pedro Fuentes, Manager of Administration and Finance.
The Port Station Director said that these and other donations that have been made to the security forces and rescue are part of the actions performed as an institution, and are for the sole purpose of helping improve the security and strengthen preventive measures throughout the region.
Rogelio Hernandez de la Mata thanked the support and interest of the Port Authority and invited the private sector to join this kind of action to make Puerto Vallarta a city that tourists come to with the certainty that their security will be guaranteed.
At the end of the event, the Lifeguards received the boat to move and repaint it with the Lifeguard insignias. In addition to the boat donation with emergency rescue equipment, the trailer and two engines were also included.
