Help Raise the Curtain at Boutique Theatre

Worker bees have been toiling non-stop for weeks to convert the former pet food supply store at the end of Basilio Badillo into a spanking new not-for-profit community theater for all to enjoy.

Amidst the buzz of saws, the pounding of hammers, the dust of construction and the smell of fresh paint, a core of incredibly committed volunteers gather regularly at a makeshift table to plan the future of an exciting new community resource that will provide patrons and performers alike the opportunity to revel in live entertainment.

Uppermost on the agenda, as the grand opening draws near, is the urgent need for financial support to help realize the transformation. Currently funded exclusively by full-time Vallarta residents Ken and Karrie Sebryk, who are spearheading the massive effort, the newly relocated and beautifully renovated Boutique Theatre Performing Arts Centre at 330 Naranjo will be a source of shared ongoing community pride, creativity and connection that will serve everyone - Mexican nationals, ex-pat residents and tourists - with a year-round season of shows and special events.

On Sunday, February 12th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, the theatre will host the first of such public events to showcase the dazzling new venue, and launch its fund-raising efforts.

Love is in the Air - a "Fun"-Raiser - promises a unique two hours of entertainment and activities, featuring local performers from past and upcoming productions, skits, delectable refreshments, and audience participation opportunities.

A sneak preview of the raucous Tony award-winning hit musical Best Little Whorehouse, opening February 15 and running through March 10, will also be presented.

Best of all, you can see and experience first-hand this magical new space, learn about future plans, and discover the role you can play to Help Raise the Curtain!

If you've been wondering how to schmooze your honey for Valentine's Day, or are personally in need of some fun and frivolity to recharge your spirit, this event is not to be missed. Admission is 300 pesos, with tickets available for purchase on-line at Boutiquetheatre.ca, Coco's Kitchen (122 Pulpito) or at the Paradise Community Center Saturday Market.

Vallarta residents, visitors and businesses are also encouraged/invited to consider making a private monetary contribution to support and sustain this exciting new not-for-profit community resource.

If you feel so inclined, please contact Norma Schuh (322) 221-6289, Ken/Karrie Sebryk (322) 222-7917, or Diane/Gord Hoyle, cellular 044-322-728-6878.

A comprehensive contribution program is in place, offering many perks/benefits/recognition to donors, based on level of giving.

Any amount is welcome!
