First Whale Festival in Vallarta-Nayarit Biol. Astrid Frisch - Ballenarte Conservation

We invite you to participate in the 1st Whale Festival (Festival Ballenarte) in Vallarta-Nayarit on January 8-11, 2014.

This festival is aimed at:

• Showing the world the great importance of Banderas Bay as an experience to observe whales and participation in the first festival at the national level.
• Create a collective awareness of the importance of conserving and protecting whales and our natural resources (Eco-tourism).
• Present an event aimed at the local population, national and foreign tourists.
• Raise funds to give continuity to the projects of the civil association ECOBAC. //www.whalephoto.org/en/
• Attract more tourists to the area and generate greater economic benefit for hotels, restaurants and tourist services providers.
• Link to civil society projects in conservation, especially for children.
• Get involved and encourage the tourism industry to take care of the whales, especially the tour operators.

In order to make the Whale Festival a success requires getting sponsorships for at least 95,000 pesos to cover the costs of the event. Expenses include printing (Beach staff, posters, programs, banners, etc.), national and foreign promotion, rental of sound & video equipment, assembly, organization and human resources teams.

SEMARNAT has sponsored us with an inflatable whale of 6.5 meters (about 21.3 feet) to be used for the various events and workshops in environmental education in the near future, as well as some awards for events, but we need more support. This is why we offer for your consideration the following packages starting from 2,000 pesos.

• Appear as the title sponsor of one of the following events: Conference in Puerto Vallarta or Bahia de Banderas, Whales and Conservation in Banderas Bay projects; Screening in Puerto Vallarta or La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in the film "Marine Oasis" documentary on the sea of Cortés.

We also need support with gift certificates for the closing dinner raffle and the awarding of race bikes and other events.

This event is our first Whale Festival and our goal is to continue and grow stronger each year in gaining attention and improving our whale season in Banderas Bay.
