The Bucerias Bilingual Community Center (BBCC) Speakers Night will take place on Wednesday, February 29, featuring a presentation on Mexican Dance by Noble Dunson, our very own Amigos de Bucerias President, historian and entertainer extraordinaire!
Enjoy the dance exhibition by Marielena Capdevila Vega. Come and learn all about the art and history of Mexican dance. Doors will open at 6:00 pm for purchase of drinks and snacks by local vendors (no need to cook that night!). Presentation begins at 7:00 pm. Suggested donation is 50 pesos.
Don't forget to come to the BBCC Conversation Cafe on Saturday mornings at 10:00 am! You'll be glad you did. And, bring a Mexican or Anglo friend. We put Spanish speakers in conversation with English speakers. We then help each other with our respective language learning pronunciations and syntax. Your vocabulary and understanding of a foreign language will improve, but best of all you will find new friends and explore cultural differences. We laugh a lot, munch on cookies and drink coffee together in the BBCC garden and under the capable guidance of moderator, Bob Orthlieb, who is fluent in both languages. Suggested donation is 25 pesos which helps cover the cost of coffee, cookies and overhead.
There will be an Amigos de Bucerias Potluck at the BBCC on Friday, March 2. Come out and meet the Amigos de Bucerias. They are the premier social club of Bucerias and do all sorts of good things for the community as well! Principal among their good deeds is supporting charity organizations such as PEACE, BBCC and Amigos affiliates of the John Ozello food drive and the Recyclers of Bucerias. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
