Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
Condos, Casas & Cocktails at Garbo - Monday
Buying a new home or navigating through the steps needed to obtain a mortgage can be a daunting task in the US or Canada, let alone in a foreign country.
You have questions? This is your chance to have the ear of Vallarta's industry leaders in a no-pressure, relaxed atmosphere.
Combining their decades of experience, Tropicasa Realty and MEXLend Mortgages have come together for the 5th year to make the process an easy one.
Condos, Casas & Cocktails, a free bi-monthly event at Garbo, is co-sponsored by Tropicasa Realty and MEXLend Mortgages and will be held through April.
On the first and third Monday of every month starting at 5:30 pm, Tropicasa and MEXLend will host a 1 hour informal conversation and Q&A about purchasing and financing a home in Mexico.
Leslie Walker in Show Pony at The Palm - Tuesday
Leslie is best known for his raucous, outrageous recurring role as Karen Walker’s nemesis Beverley Leslie on the television classic Will & Grace (garnering an Emmy for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, 2006) as well as his career defining role as ‘Brother Boy’ in both the original film Sordid Lives and the recent Logo TV sensation, Sordid Lives, The Prequel.
'Show Pony' will take the stage at the Palm Cabaret & Bar in Old Town Vallarta beginning on Tuesday, January 7, 7:30 pm, and continuing until January 12, 2014.
Elvis Birthday Bash at Que?Pasa - Wednesday
Have you heard the rumors that Elvis is in town? We assure you they are true!
January 8th is Elvis Presley's birthday and we're throwing him a Birthday Bash at Que?Pasa!
Rob Knight, double award winning Elvis Tribute Artist, will be rocking the Que?Pasa stage beginning at 8:00 pm.
While watching his amazing show, you'll get to enjoy Memphis Fried Chicken and, of course, Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches!
Whale Festival in Vallarta-Nayarit - Wednesday thru Saturday
This event is our first Whale Festival and our goal is to continue and grow stronger each year in gaining attention and improving our whale season in Banderas Bay.
Join us on January 8-11, 2014.
Tianguis in La Penita - Thursday
The Tianguis (open-air market) is held every Thursday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm around the La Peñita Plaza.
It is "the" place to shop for silver and handmade jewelry, tablecloths and linens, glassware, Talavera plates, Huichol Indian artwork and Oaxacan rugs. You will also find fresh fruits and veggies, homemade breads, and locally-produced honey and coffee beans.
This is one of the largest and most well-known markets in the area. While the Tianguis continues year-round, many of the artisans do not participate during the summer months.
Murder Mystery Auditions in La Cruz - Friday
Can you act? Would you like to try? Now’s your chance! We have several fun, exciting roles for men and women of all ages and are inviting you to audition on Friday, January 10, at Octopus from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. No previous experience is necessary, all we ask is that you be available for at least 6 rehearsals in February, 2 – 4 performances in March and are capable of memorizing a few lines. It’s going to be a blast! Come join us on Friday and give it your best shot.
If acting isn't your thing, there's a lot more you can do.
Cultural Market in Chacala - Saturday
We would like to invite you all to come check out our Cultural Market in the village of Chacala.
The Market will be presented every Saturday of the Winter Season from 8:00 am until around 12:00 noon, in the town plaza, next to Chac Mool Restaurant at the North end of the beach.
The focus is on locally produced handicrafts and local artists.
Once you're finished shopping, have some fresh fish in one of the beach palapas & take a dip in our 1km of sleepy, Certified Clean Beach.
Farmers Market in La Cruz - Sunday
The Sunday Farmer's Market in La Cruz is in their fourth season on Sundays beginning at 10:00 am.
This Artisan Products Market will again be held on the premises of Marina Rivera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.
More than a hundred producers of food, jewelry, textiles, handicrafts and art prints are ready with their wares in the beautiful Market setting by the sea, surrounded by palm trees, bougainvillea, live music and lots of good vibes.
There's a lot more going on in Vallarta-Nayarit this week, so check out our Events Calendar.
Another way to spend some very worthwhile time in Vallarta-Nayarit is to volunteer at one of the Banderas Bay non-profits that will welcome you with open arms. It will make you feel good too! You will see the tabs above for all the catagories.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
