Events Not to Miss This Week in Vallarta-Nayarit

Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Irish Dinner and Concert at Paradise Community Center - Monday

"Gettin' Lucky" will rock the Paradise Stage with the eclectic sounds and Irish bantor of Time 2 Play's popular band of merry musicians.

And it gets better!

Peter from Paradise's BagelWorld is cookin' up a 3-course Irish Meal. Talk about Gettin' Lucky...you are the lucky ones. So come hungry and come early: Doors open at 6:30 on Monday, March 17, for dinner.

The concert begins on Monday at 8:00 pm.

Kite Like a Pro Clinic - All Week

Get a head start on the 2014 Summer season with this awesome Spring MX Pro kite clinic to be held in Puerto Vallarta on March 14-24, 2014.

The PV "Kite Like Pro Clinic" will focus on your kiteboarding progression over 10 fun filled days with personalized instruction by pro kiters & IKO Instructors at a variety of awesome, uncrowded kite beaches throughout the Banderas Bay Area. Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful Mexican city that has much to offer besides kiting from day trips & adventures to awesome nightclubs & restaurants. If you haven't been there you are missing out.

Copa Regata in La Cruz - Monday through Friday

Warm waters, winds from 12 to 25 knots, plenty of sunshine and the already famous parties await you at arguably one of the best sailing venues worldwide. The J/24 North American Championship will take place on the waters of Bahia de Banderas (Vallarta) from March 16th to 21st, 2014.

This is definitely a regatta not to be missed, so mark your calendars and make plans to attend this event which will be part of the Copa Mexico in its third edition.

International Celtic Music Fest - Thursday through Saturday

The First International Celtic Music Festival of Mexico will take place in Puerto Vallarta during March 20, 21, and 22, 2014.

This unique event will gather Celtic musicians and other traditional artists as well as Celtic crafts and art vendors. For three days you can enjoy Celtic Music of the highest caliber in the magnificent setting of Sunny Puerto Vallarta and the hospitality of its people.

With the support of the State of the Jalisco and Puerto Vallarta Tourist Authorities as well as the Irish and UK Embassies, FIMC 2014 has prepared a program that will include Pipe Band Parades, free open air concerts as well as special concerts with admission charges, a traditional Scottish Ceilidh and the Drumming for Drinks competition.

An inaugural parade with Pipe Bands will open the Festival on Thursday, March 20 marching through the “Malecon” (Main street seaside promenade). From day one there will be  a series of concerts, like the one with a group from Boston called Alba’s Edge, who will be performing their very unique “Scottish Latin Jazz” music.
    
Circus for Children in San Pancho - Friday

This is a unique and original project that has changed the lives of many children in the town of San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit. Circus for Children, the second edition, will be held on March 21, 2014, in the Plaza del Sol, and promises many surprises.

There will be a follow-up Children's Art Benefit on March 22 by EntreAmigos.

Created in 2011 by Gilles Ste'Croix, a founder and current Creative Director of Cirque du Soleil, the Circus for Children brings together 50 children from the communities of San Pancho and Sayulita.

Circus for Children is part of the Education Community Center EntreAmigos, directed by Nicole Swedlow, an enthusiastic resident of the village who has been working hard for the community since 2006.

MexPup Dinner Fundraiser - Saturday

"Touching Your Heart for a Noble Cause" is the theme for the upcoming MexPup fundraiser at El Arrayan Restaurant, Puerto Vallarta, on Saturday, March 22.

El Arrayan, the best authentic Mexican food in Puerto Vallarta, will host two sittings with the first at 6:00 pm and the second seating at 8:30 pm.

You will have your choice of appetizer and entree from the special menu for 200 pesos.

Proceeds from all donation ticket sales will be donated to MexPup.

Mexico Cup Regatta - Saturday & Sunday

Thanks to the excellent results obtained in 2010 and 2012, as well as the outstanding conditions available for the practice of aquatic and nautical sports, the Riviera Nayarit will once again host the Mexico Cup Regatta for a third time during its 2014 edition.

Approximately two thousand participants and 400 boats will be competing in the Bay of Banderas from March 16-30, each looking to place among the best sailors in the world.
 
There will be three main hosts for the competitions: the Ocean Class, J24 and Windsurf will take place at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle; the Laser Class, Optimist and Club 420 will take place at the Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta; and the Kiteboard Class will take place in Bucerías.
