go to original April 1, 2014 |
The news came as a surprise to the community that for the first time nationally, the children now form their own Rotary Club in Mexico, which was proposed by teacher Blanca Arrelano, driven by Saul Lopez, current President of the Rotary Club Puerto Vallarta South, and Carlos Vazquez, Vice-Governor of Rotary District 4150.
The Rotary Kids Club marks a new stage for Rotary activities in this tourist destination.
The purpose of the Club is to strengthen the values of our children and make them sensitive and involved with the events of the region.
The main benefactors in this program responsible for allowing the young Rotarians to set and achieve their own goals, was accomplished by efforts between ANFECA of the University del Valle de Atemajac, with the following members of the Board: Ana Valeria Guzman Vázquez, Osman Covarrubias (Treasurer), Juliette Canales Bazán (Secretary), Miriana Chay Loria (Vice-President) and Saúl López Espíritu (President).
The Board members informed those present of the planned activities for the Rotary Kids Club which includes the premise of the slogan by the Puerto Vallarta Rotary Club South, "Putting Others First" in reference to the selfless acts performed by Rotarians worldwide.
