New Board of Directors Elected for Bucerias Children's Library

The meeting opened at 10:20 am on March 29 and was conducted by Sue Usry (on behalf of President Manny Venegas who could not attend) in English, and by Norma Ramirez, Librarian, in Spanish.

Of 32 members signed up for 2014, 23 attended plus 7 by proxy, and a quorum was confirmed.

The Agenda of the AGM 2013 was read aloud by Sue Usry and by Norma Ramirez. Treasurer Dee Durkot called for an amendment that funds had increased by 22,500 pesos. The Minutes were proposed to be accepted, duly amended, by Dee Durkot, seconded by Laurie Moffat. Members were unanimously in favour and the Minutes were accepted.

The Annual Report of activities for the past year confirmed the activities held at the library, children attending and books donated.

The Financial Report was given by Treasurer Dee Durkot who confirmed money held in the deposit account and the checking account. Two signatories are required on any checks. There had been fewer fundraisers but, after expenses, funds had increased by 32,845.40 pesos. Priority was necessary to finalise online factura accounting to conform with the new laws of January 2014.

The motion to accept the report was proposed by John Koruga, accepted by Eric Hinton, all members were unanimously in favour and the Report was accepted.

A proposal was made to amend the years a Board Member was required to serve, reducing from three years to one year, but to be able to be re-elected without limitation if they so wished. Information would be transferred from one Board to its successor. The motion to accept the amendment was proposed by Rita Kollock, approved by Dee Durkot, all members were unanimously in favour and the amendment was accepted.
 
Due to resignations, nominations for a new Board of Directors were:

President: Ruben Ramirez Molina: Proposed by Laurie Moffat, Second by Jody Wilson, with the stipulation that in any matter involving the Librarian Norma Ramirez, Sr Ruben Ramirez, husband, would absent himself from discussion.

Secretary: Susan Ann Usry: Proposed by Jennie Roden, Seconded by Ruben Ramirez Molina.

Treasurer: Jennie Roden: Proposed by Sue Usry, Seconded by Jody Wilson.

Vocale: Norma Laureen Moffat: proposed by Rita Kollock, Seconded by Norma Ramirez.

Vocale: Jody Wilson: Proposed by Ruben Ramirez Molina, Seconded by Barry Munro.

Ballot papers were signed and counted, members voted unanimously in favor of the new Board, to serve for one year.

A vote of thanks was given to the previous Board.

The meeting closed at 12.05 pm
