Santa Barbara & Puerto Vallarta Sister Cities Gardens Celebrations Vallarta Botanical Gardens | |
April 15, 2014 |
Puerto Vallarta and Santa Barbara became Sister Cities in 1972 and since then have worked together to spread international peace and understanding through the cross-border alliance of these delightful Pacific Coast communities.
The Vallarta Botanical Gardens and Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens celebrate this relationship as “Sister Cities Gardens” through cross-promotion of their organizations and reciprocal entry offerings to their members. But this is only scratching the surface of the potential for how these gardens can cooperate for the mutual benefit of their communities and conservation efforts in their respective regions.
To further explore the opportunities for future projects between these gardens, Santa Barbara Botanic Garden Executive Director, Dr. Steven Windhager will visit the Vallarta Botanical Gardens on Wednesday May 7th.
A public ceremony at noon of that day will formalize the Sister Cities Gardens relationship and Dr. Windhager along with his family and guests will learn about Puerto Vallarta’s diverse and fascinating flora.
Complimentary entry to the Vallarta Botanical Gardens will be available to those who bring a copy of the coupon available for free download here.
Please join us in welcoming our visitors from Santa Barbara on that day. For questions please write to info@vbgardens.org or call (322) 223-6182.
