With fun activities that encourage creativity, knowledge, caring for animals and the environment, as well as measures of self-protection among children, on July 21 the 'Summer Courses 2014' of Centro de Acopio Animal Pound in Puerto Vallarta. This program is available to children ages 6 to 11 years and a chance to enjoy their summer vacation.
Guadalupe Davalos, chief of the municipal agency, said that it is a joint effort made by different areas of the city council to offer a healthy choice of entertainment and learning for all local children this holiday season.
"It's a course we are preparing for the children to understand important issues on the voluntary work of several municipal departments and also as some related associations relate to each purpose," she said.
She explained that during these two weeks the children will learn important issues as regards the rights of animals, pets and their care, conflict management and violence issues by the Prevewntive Police, the self-protection of children and how to avoid risk situations, and a sensitization workshop to raise awareness of the treatment of persons with disabilities, among others.
The course will be held at the Rio Cuale Island from July 21 to August 1, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Registration takes place at the offices of the Directorate of Social Communication, located on the top floor of City Hall in the Division of Education, located in the Municipal Administrative Unit (UMA) of Portales colony. The registration will cost 200 pesos and has a quota of 150 children.
In addition to the Centro de Acopio Animal Pound, these activities will involve the Preventive Police, the Municipal Youth Care, the Department of Environment and Ecology, Municipal Education and Coordination of Civil Protection and Fire.
