Simon in the hands of his rescuer |
Featured Feline: Simon
This kitty was found alone and starving on a street in downtown Vallarta when he was just about two weeks old.
His rescuer, Ruth, named him Simon and agreed to take on the task of bottle-feeding him for the month she would be in town.
Since then, he has resided in the PuRR nursery and with good nutrition and medical care is a healthy 4-month old!
He is white with blue eyes and ready for a home of his own.
Look for him at our Plaza Marina adoption booth on Fridays or contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com for more info.

We want to thank all the folks who submitted photos of their adopted PuRR kitties for consideration in the 2015 Calendar! Just contact Linda at info@purrproject.com to place your order! These are beautiful calendars on top quality paper and have all the major holidays for Mexico, USA and Canada. Texa all healed! |
Good Meows: Texa’s Story
She was named “Texa” when she was dumped as a tiny baby at the local radio station “EXA” in 2012. The station director then was Grace Nava and she let this kitty live at the station as she was unable to take her home. After leaving her job, Grace and her daughter continued to visit Texa and bring food, but the new station manager recently gave her away without telling them.
Fortunately, she still had her collar with nametag and Grace’s phone number on it. Last month, she received a call that the cat had been caught in a truck engine and was severely wounded. Grace and her daughter, Ana Belen, rushed to the scene and then rushed Texa to Wolf’s clinic.
Her injuries to neck and upper body were extensive, but with loving care at Wolf’s, she has completely healed and is ready for her Furrever Home! Dr. Edourdo says she was a great little patient and is very loving in spite of her ordeal and will make a wonderful companion.
After hearing her story, PuRR Project agreed to take her to the shelter to live with some of the older adoptable felines. If not adopted, she will eventually be released to live in the gardens.
She is spayed and has been tested for FIV/Leukemia and all her vaccinations are up to date. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful calico, contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com.
Gracias! Thanks! Merci!
Donate money for foodHeartfelt thanks to Gary Phillips, Colette Hubner, Ed & June Gamble, Nancy Zack, Carol Liggett, Sharon Rose, Jill Brady, Annie Dodge, Victor Domilovskiy, Evelyn Ball and Jennifer & Bill Warren for donations in July…….and to Sharon & Ken Rose for their Virtual Adoption of Dexter!!
End of Summer is the time when we are most desperate for your support as we are running low on funds to feed our 150+ felines and fundraising events are still three months away.
PuRR took in 21 adult cats and kittens in July and only had 4 adoptions.
The kittens often arrive at the shelter starving and are fed a high quality kitten food to give them the best nutrition…..but it costs 600 pesos or almost $50 dollars for a 7.7 lb. bag.
If you would like to help, every penny and peso is appreciated. Click on DONATE for more information and a link to PayPal.
