Something Magical & Musical is happening at the heart of Riviera Nayarit, in the crown jewel village of Chacala-by-the-sea … a four day & night celebration of music … a festival … an unforgettable bringin’-in-the-spring fling!

One night in March, 2012 at a Friday night roof-top reception, a group of attendees began to break out in song, regaling the crowd spontaneously with music from Broadway Musicals. The group began to realize that Chacala might just be a perfect place to celebrate music and other arts: thus was borne the Chacala Music Festival.

This year, the Chacala Village Festival will take place from March 10-13, 2016.

Entertainment includes performances by Elisabeth von Trapp, Luna Rumba, Paul Swan, Folklorical Dancers, Mariachis, and so much more including children's programs. To see the current line-up of entertainment and venues, visit Chacala Music Festival.

The mission of the organizers of the Festival is to provide an annual celebration of wide ranging musical performances for residents and guests of Chacala and nearby communities and position Chacala as a traditional Mexican village with high quality artistic values.

The Festival supplements existing musical education for the youth in the community with additional education and performance opportunities to stimulate, develop and nurture musical and other artistic talent in the community.

The Chacala Cultural Foundation is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to promote and encourage the cultural experience, including, but not limited to education and performance in the arts, music and dance. To encourage the learning and enjoyment of such cultural experiences by creating a positive and lasting impression for all involved.

Chacala is a picturesque beach-town set in small cove on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the State of Nayarit.

It is located about 100 kilometers (62 mi) north of Puerto Vallarta. The name means “where there are shrimp” in Nahuatl, and is part of the coastline known as the Riviera Nayarit. The population consists of approximately 300 full-time residents, but can swell to over 1000 during Mexico’s most popular vacation periods such as Semana Santa, (Easter Week) and Christmas.

Chacala is known for its physical beauty, unhurried lifestyle, and friendly people.

We hope to see you in Chacala for four days and nights of magical music for a great cause.
