Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
Tales of the Iguana Dinner Theatre - Monday and Saturday
Join PV columnist Todd Ringness as he hosts a unique journey back in time.
Tales of the Iguana is a fascinating look at the motion picture that transformed Puerto Vallarta from a sleepy seaside village into a thriving international resort.
If you missed the previous presentation of Tales of the Iguana or would like to repeat the experience, join Todd Ringness at the Boutique Theatre on Monday, March 28 and/or Saturday, April 2 where you can enjoy a great dinner at 5:00 pm or opt for the show only at 6:00 pm.
Ceviche & Aguachile Market at the Pier - Tuesday
Every Tuesday there is a Ceviche and Aguachile Market taking place on Francisca Rodriguez, the walk-street leading to the Los Muertos Pier in Old Town Puerto Vallarta.
Come and enjoy a variety of ceviche and aguachiles prepared by neighbors, merchants and restaurateurs of the region in this culinary and cultural weekly event.
Enjoy an amazing variety of culinary delights such as coconut shrimp ceviche and return each Tuesday throughout the season between 12:00 and 4:00 pm to sample all the delicious selections while being entertained by live music.
Last PuRR Project Ranch Tour of the Season - Wednesday
The 10-passenger air-conditioned van will leave Superior Tours' office at Plaza Romy in Old Town at 9:00 am, or VIPS Restaurant by the Marina Walmart at 9:20 am.
In addition to meeting all 150 cats and kittens up close and personal, we're now including a short stop in San Juan de Valle, a charming little Mexican town near the ranch. We'll have you back at your
pick-up point by 1:30 pm.
March 30 is our final Ranch Tour of this season so get your kitty cuddles and help support PuRR Project through the summer months.
Downtown Vallarta Art Walk - Wednesday
Puerto Vallarta has established itself as a vibrant center of art creation, exhibition and promotion. An important contribution to the city´s art scene is Puerto Vallarta´s ArtWalk which this year will be held every Wednesday, 6:00 - 10:00 pm through May 25, 2016.
The participating galleries in Centro Historico offer works by important national and international artists. Remarkable paintings, exceptional sculptures, fine ceramics, blown glass and other types of noteworthly art are offered.
Free Concerts at Los Arcos on the Malecon - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Under the auspices of Holistic Institute of Culture (IVC) of Puerto Vallarta, an outdoor theater known as the Malecon arches, free musical and dance concerts will be held during the Easter and Holy Week, where locals and visitors are invited to attend and enjoy.
Southside Shuffle - Friday
Take a stroll down Basilio Badillo every other Friday evening for art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, restaurants, food, drinks, live music and fun.
This is one of Vallarta's more festive events and the party runs from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and features live music, cocktails and all kinds of great stuff.
Friday, April 1 will be the final Southside Shuffle for this season.
Elviz Martinez: All of Me - Saturday
It is pleasurable to watch Elviz and listen to his growth as a performer, an artist and a very fine vocalist. His fans will be waiting for another round of his ongoing growth.
There are still two performances left this season of "All of Me" and you can catch Elviz at the Act II Stages Red Room on April 2 and 9 at 7:30 pm.
Daylight Saving Time Begins in Vallarta-Nayarit - Sunday
Even though our USA and Canada neighbors to the north started observing Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00 am, Mexico, except some exceptions including Mexico-USA border municipalities, will begin DST almost a month later on April 3 and ending a week earlier on October 30.
Clocks in areas that follow DST in the USA & Canada (including some areas in Mexico) will be returned to Standard Time on November 6, 2016.
