The 10th International Marlin and Tuna Tournament will be held on July 14 - 16, 2018 in Banderas Bay, organized by the Banderas Bay Fishing Club (Club de Pesca de Bahia de Banderas A.C.) and sponsored by Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta. The Groups and Events department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is also backing this event. Other sponsors include Zaragoza Marine, Embarcaciones Nave, Black Bart Lures, Vallarta Yacht Club, Costa, Mercury Marine, Coca Cola, Shamano and Don Roberto Tequila.
Boats are expected to sail in from Mexico, the United States and Canada, all of them seeking the prizes for the three top spots in the four categories in which they will compete: Marlin, Tuna, Sailfish and Mahi-Mahi.
The winners of the Marlin and Tuna categories will take home a new car. Other prizes include cash, fishing equipment, tequila and bragging rights.
Registration opens on Thursday, July 14 at the Paradise Village Yacht Club from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
The competition for the first day of the tournament on July 15 begins at 7:00 am with the Flag Ceremony and Opening Ceremonies.
On Saturday, July 16, anglers may depart as early as 12:01 am.
Reception of fish will be accepted at 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Paradise Village each day of the tournament.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at 6:30 pm in the Paradise Village Amphitheater.
