In Puerto Vallarta from August 9 to August 12, the Mexican Master XXXVII 2012 Track & Field Athletics Championship Vallarta will take place at the Agustin Flores Contreras Sports Center.
The City of Puerto Vallarta, the Municipal Council of Sport and Youth Support (COMUFODAJ), and the Mexican Federation of Masters Athletes, invites athletes, 30 years or older, to participate (born on or before August 9, 1982).
There will be men's and womens division and some events have age specifications.
The 400 meter hurdles will be 30 to 49 years or age; the 100 meter hurdles is 30 to 39 years of age; the 80-meter hurdles is 40 and over; the 300 meter hurdles is ages 50 to 69 years and older; and, the 200 meter hurdles is for 70 years of age and older.
Events open to all ages are:
• 100 meter dash
• 200 meter dash
• 400 meter dash
• 800 meter dash
• 1,500-meter dash
• 5,000-meter dash
• 10,000-meter dash
• 2,000-meter steeplechase
• 3,000-meter steeplechase
• 110 meter hurdles
• 3.000 meters run
• 5.000 meters run
• 10.000 meters run
• Half Marathon
• High Jump
• Long Jump
• Triple Jump
• Shot-put
• Discus
• Hammer Throw
• Javelin Throw
• Pentathlon
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each category and division.
Agustin Flores Contreras Sports Center is located on Francisco Medina Avenue, just opposite the Sheraton Hotel and north of downtown Vallarta.
