61st Annual PV International Billfish Tournament Team Angels - PVAngels

The 61st edition of Puerto Vallarta's Billfish Tournament will be held November 16-19, 2016 and will again return to its original roots at the Rosita Hotel in Downtown Vallarta.

Registration will be held from 5:00 until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16 at the Rosita Hotel.

The opening ceremony at the Rosita will begin the three-day tournament at 7:00 on November 17. The anglers can take off anytime after midnight on the following two days of fishing.

Receptions and weigh-ins will be held each afternoon on the Marina Vallarta Boardwalk, next to the Marina del Rey condominiums between 1:00 and 6:00 pm. The Awards Ceremony will follow at the same venue at 7:00 pm on November 19.

The four categories for winners are Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna and Dorado (Mahi Mahi).

First Place winner in the Sailfish category will take home a 2017 Chevrolet Aveo. Second place wins a 2017 Chevrolet Spark and Third place wins a 4 person/3 night lodging at Vallarta Gardens Beach Club & Spa. Also in the Sailfish category, the first angler that beats the current Sailfish tournament record of 70.600 Kgs (155.64 lbs) will be awarded a 2017 Chevrolet Spark.

In the Marlin category, First Place is awarded a 2017 Chevrolet Aveo. Second Place wins a 2017 Chevrolet Spark and Third Place will be awarded a 4 person/3 night lodging at Vallarta Gardens Beach Club & Spa. The first angler to beat the tournament Marlin record of 322.300 Kgs (710.54 lbs) will will a 2017 Chevrolet Spark.

The winner in the Tuna category wins a 2017 Chevrolet Aveo. Second Place wins Shamano Fishing Equipment and Black Bart Lures Kit and Third Place wins a Black Bart Lures Kit and a 4 Pack of Costa del Mar Sunglasses. The first angler breaking the Tuna tournament record of 176 Kgs (388.01 lbs) will be awarded a 2017 Chevrolet Spark.

Finally, the Dorado (Mahi Mahi) First Place winner will be awarded a 2017 Chevrolet Spark. Second Place will win a 4 person/3 night lodging at Vallarta Gardens Beach Club & Spa. Third Place takes home a Black Bart Lures Kit and a 4 Pack of Costa del Mar Sunglasses.

There will also be Catch & Release, Best Crew, and largest Marlin of the Day awards.
