Teatro Vallarta Concert Supports Public Schools
The Orchestra School of Puerto Vallarta (OEPV) will perform at the Teatro Vallarta on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at 12:00 noon.
This concert is intended as a sample of the orchestral work developed by the boys of the OEPV this year.
Last May, the OEPV presented a repertoire divided into sections but this year the orchestra will give a concert with pieces selected by teacher Miguel Almaguer to take us to magic lands of fantasy.
The selection includes pieces from the ballet Firebird, The Funeral March for a Marionette and, true to the philosophy of OEPV, two works by Mexican composers.
This concert is to celebrate a year full of accomplishments and goals achieved. The boys are returning from sessions with the National Orchestra where OEPV worthily represented Puerto Vallarta.
As a result of the relationship harvested during their time with the National Orchestra, Instructor Irving Brenis gave a refresher course for string players in the new facilities OEPV.
Yesterday, there was a small ceremony for the new OEPV facilities at Genaro Padilla #248 in Pitillal.
Tickets for the concert are 120 pesos for general admission and 60 pesos for children, students and seniors. Tickets are on sale at the theater box office and through Vallarta Ticket Master.
For more information about the concert, the training course or the project in general please contact (322) 224-5671 or the OEPV in Pitillal.
