Authorities and guests, during the inauguration of the new tourist service.
The municipal president, Arturo Dávalos Peña, launched on Monday an innovative and fun proposal in which visitors will be able to tour the center of Puerto Vallarta for free and get to know its main attractions.
It is the Turicleto, a sustainable vehicle that moves through the energy produced when pedaling and has an approximate capacity for 20 people, ten of them on the pedals that will give mobility to this unit.
"For the Government of Puerto Vallarta it is an honor to present to all of you a fun and interactive proposal to enjoy our city: El Turicleto. We know that our tourist vocation forces us to innovate, to be in tune with nature and to diversify the attractions of the heart of Puerto Vallarta," affirmed the Mayor when giving the official inauguration to the new vehicle.
He recognized the initiative of the Municipal Tourism Directorate, by Ramón González Lomelí, as well as the talent of the young student Hari Sahib Noé Lara Muñoz, who designed and created this sustainable mobile unit that allows tourists to live a new experience while exercising and getting to know the culture of the city, accompanied by a bilingual tour guide, constituting a novel attraction for visitors.
Dávalos Peña said that this vehicle joins the efforts in this administration to rescue and revitalize the city center, having undertaken various activities in areas such as the Parks Hidalgo and Lázaro Cárdenas and the Plaza de Armas, in addition to the installation of scenic lighting on the boardwalk and reinforcement of public lighting throughout the center; As well as the placement of the letters of Puerto Vallarta that have been a success and provide promotion to this destination nationally and internationally.
He explained that there are other proposals such as the one of a little train that would cross the malecon to the Lazaro Cardenas park, where it would also be explaining to the passers-by the attractions and the history of the city.
For its part, the Municipal Tourism Director, Ramón González Lomelí, announced that the World Tourism Organization declared 2017 the year of tourist sustainability, and by instructions from the Mayor, all mechanisms are sought so that Puerto Vallarta is involved in this program.
He pointed out that there will be two daily tours at 9:00 am and 12:00 noon, each accompanied by a bilingual guide. The vehicle has harnesses for user safety, spaces for water bottles and it is sought that its maintenance is self-sustaining through voluntary contributions, which will also allow economic support to the guides.
In the commissioning of this new attraction, the municipal president was accompanied by the regional Director of Tourism of the state, Ludwig Estrada Virgen; General Brigadier DEM Crisóforo Martínez Parra, Chief of Staff of the 41st Military Zone; The creator of the project, Hari Sahib Noah Lara Muñoz, councilors, officials and representatives of different business chambers and social sectors of Puerto Vallarta.
