UAN Opens Campus in Bucerias, Nayarit Alan Yamil Hinojosa - Vallarta Viva

The Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN), with headquarters in Bucerias, has been formally inaugurated.

The Rector, Juan López Salazar, was accompanied by Georgina del Rocío Gómez Estrada, President of Volunteer UAN, students, and teachers for the inauguration.

Courses being taught at UAN include Administration, Psychology and Law, at the undergraduate level.

Salazar stated that this university represents a significant event and takes great pride in declaring the start of activities.

He said that after all the work involved in planning of the campus, they launched a call for teachers and performed an exclusive selection of personnel.

The Rector announced that approximately 32 young people will initially be involved in the three academic programs.

"The University is very noble and advances the cycle of education and will grow with quality, both academically and in infrastructure."

Antonio Cazares Torres, Bucerias Headquarters Coordinator, gave a welcome and explanatory statement: "It is a pleasure to share the drive of a project that has been brewing since long ago and that probably for some had been only a dream." He appreciated the participation and institutional support of Rector Juan López Salazar, emphasizing that, with his team, he has managed to coordinate the opening of a multidisciplinary University Center in the southern part of the State of Nayarit. He said that the results of the careful study and planning allowed the ability to initiate activities offering degrees in law, administration and psychology, according to the needs of the area.
