October 4, 2017

The Flute Ensemble of Puerto Vallarta, newly formed this summer, is pleased to announce their first performance at Incanto on Sunday, 22 October at 4:00 pm.

The group of six flutists, most of them student musicians, are as young as 17, some playing just under three years.

Each flutist plays with the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra or the Puerto Vallarta Youth Orchestra and or the Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra, whose founder and conductor, Victor Kris, is also a member of the Flute Ensemble.

The group is led by Andrea Jupina, who has been playing since childhood, is a charter member of the Salty Paws, and has played with the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra the past 10 years.

The Flute Ensemble will present a varied program of short, bright pieces in 3 and 4 part harmony from various musical eras – ranging from Antonio Vivaldi, Ludwig von Beethoven, Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Jiri Druschetzky, Joachim Johow, Quincy Hilliard, Lazlo Zempléni, Johnny Mandel, and traditional.

Incanto is located at Insurgentes #109 in Old Town Puerto Vallarta, at the river Cuale and just before the bridge. Telephone is (322) 223-9756.

The Flute Ensemble is part of I AM PV, Instituto Artes Musicales de Puerto Vallarta, an Asociación Civil (AC), which is a Mexican nonprofit. IAMPV receives no money from the government and is totally dependent on private donations. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to buy sheet music and music stands (which are currently being borrowed). Donation tickets will be 300 MX pesos for premium seats, 250 for general seating.

Flutists of any age who are interested in playing with the group should contact Andrea Jupina, andreajupina@gmail.com, landline (322) 221-6168.

With one performance....in a small theatre....this lovely performance is sure to sell out....I hope to see you there! Purchase donation tickets online at Incanto Puerto Vallarta.

Come early for a beverage on Incanto's delightful riverside patio....Happy Hour - 2 to 6 pm.
