"See Better 2012" Cataract Surgery Campaign in Puerto Vallarta
The “See Better 2012” cataract surgery campaign was recently held in Puerto Vallarta through the combined efforts, kind hearts and contributions of the System for Integral Family Development (DIF), the North Coast Jalisco Institute of Social Welfare (IJAS), Cornerstone and CMQ Premier Hospitals and Sophia Laboratories.
"See Better 2012" fulfilled the goal of assisting more than one hundred people who needed cataract surgery by providing not only the operation but the further medical attention needed for a speedy recovery.
Jennifer Serur, President of the DIF was present at the start of the program and took the opportunity to praise the excellent organization and teamwork of the different institutions which allowed them to surpass their goals for this campaign.
The surgeries were performed last weekend at the Cornerstone and CMQ Premier hospitals and coordinated by Dr. Jaime Miramontes of Puerto Vallarta and Dr. Monica Orozco Carroll of Guadalajara with the participation of physicians Eric Yahir Oregon Miranda and Grimelda Yuriana Sanchez Castro, both from Guadalajara.
