Hello friends/Hola Amigos,

You'll find below an explanation of our new "Food Donation" plan. We have five people on the list already and will need 15 more to cover our monthly consumption. (Of course we still greatly appreciate any monetary donations as well.)

Amigos de Paraiso Felino is a club for people who pledge one bag of Kirkland (or Cat Chow) cat food a month to help feed the growing population of residents at Paraiso Felino Cat Refuge. The idea arose because of the difficult summer that Paraiso Felino had that put us into debt. We thought by sharing costs we could lessen the burden of providing food for the 180 cats. "Many donations make feeding cats light." If you and your family can donate just one bag of food a month you would be part of this loving project. Please notify Janina to sign up.

At some point in the year, we'll have a little get-together to review progress at the shelter and consider ideas for the benefit of the Refuge.

One of the options club members have is to recruit help from their friends any time if the donation becomes difficult. For example: You only have 100 pesos available so you get 2 or 3 friends to chip in with the rest. Going on vacation? Leave a bag for each month you're gone and they'll be stored and used in the appropriate month. This way we assure that the kitties will always have enough food even in the difficult summer months.

Our third Friday arrangement means you can buy at Costco and leave the Cat Food or any other donation at the door with the Paraiso Felino Volunteer during the set time period of 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Other arrangements can be made as well.
