Eddie wants to model his new Crocs on the cat-walk!

We are kicking off the high season with our first big fund-raising event! PuRR Project and Deja New Consignment are teaming up to present a Fashion Show Extraordinaire on Thursday, November 15, at 12:30 pm at Langostino’s on Los Muertos Beach.

Tickets are 250 pesos, which includes a great lunch, a welcome cocktail, a raffle for fabulous prizes ~ as well as lovely models showing off the latest fashions on the "cat walk." (Watch for a surprise model or two!)

Bring a "gently used" article of clothing to donate to the PuRR Project/Deja New account for a second chance to win a door prize! Kathleen Palmer of Deja New has loads of designer fashions at unbelievable prices to show us this year.

Tickets are available at Langostino's, Deja New Consignment (Jacarandas #280), at the PuRR Project booth at the Farmer's Market in Paradise Community Center (Pulpito #127) and on Cupocity. You can also reserve tickets by emailing exkhan@usfamily.com or pat@pvwebsolutions.com.

2013 PuRR Calendar Available

Gee...did we already mention that we just published our very first PuRR Calendar??

This calendar is something every animal lover should have. In addition to all the great photos and stories of successful PuRR adoptions, it shows all the moon phases and the major holidays of the United States and Canada as well as Mexico (very handy if you live here!).

We've already sold out over half our supply so don't wait to get yours!!

They are only a 200 peso donation and are available at our booth every Saturday at the Community Center Market. We'll also have them at BINGO and the Fashion Show.

If you would like to have one mailed to you, a $25 US donation will include the calendar and postage (includes a 50% discount on mailing from Mail Boxes, Etc). Simply go to our website and click on the DONATE tab to use a credit card through Pay-Pal. Be sure to include in the message that it is for a calendar. We will contact you for the address to send it to.

Hint: Makes a GREAT Christmas or Hanukkah gift!

2013 Shelter Update

A PuRR-fect painter's helper!

We are happy to report that since our last newsletter, the electricity at the property was finally turned back on after 9 hot days! Apparently a combination of high winds and tall trees had damaged a transformer.

Though the trees are outside our property, the CFE insists that we must get them trimmed to insure no future problems and we are looking for someone to do that job.

Plus, we have lots of trees and bushes inside the ranch that could use a good trimming right now. Speaking of which...

Fall Cleaning – Want to be a huge help, pitch in and make 200+ cats happy? Please mark your calendars that we are planning two PuRR Project "ranch days" for cleaning, painting, repairing and generally spiffing up the place: Monday and Tuesday, October 29-30. We need as many hands on deck as we can get for this, so bring a friend...there's plenty of work to go around. If you would like to lend a hand, contact Marilyn at exkhan@usfamily.net for the meeting place and time.

A Fond "Adios"

Shannon takes home a bag full of PuRR logo goodies!

The volunteers of PuRR Project are very sad to say goodbye to Shannon Campbell who is returning to the States to resume her career...in New York City!

We wish her the best of luck. She will continue to volunteer from afar, managing our Face Book page and posting newsletters to our website.

Shannon and Livia Hevia have been our All-Star adoption team at the Plaza Marina this past year, where over 90 kitties found their Forever Homes. They also passed out valuable information on the importance of spay/neuter to help control the feline population in our Bay. Her smiling face and cheerful attitude will be missed...at least until she returns for a promised visit!

From Shannon: "I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of time I've spent with PuRR Project, especially the people I met through the organization. What a great group of dedicated volunteers! They inspired me every day. I am happy that I can continue to help PuRR, even being thousands of miles away, via the Internet! Everyone in the PV needs to do themselves a favor and visit this well-run, clean, happy cat sanctuary. Such an amazing place!"
