The State of Jalisco has 250 rehabilitation centers on record, of which 19 are located in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta.
Sixty-nine of the centers are recognized at the federal level according to the Secretariat of Health Jalisco (SSJ).
The State Council Against Addictions in the State (CECAJ) pointed out that these facilities must meet a series of requirements for their operations, as stated in NOM-028, to provide treatment services to persons who require it.
Aiming to provide treatment services to those having addiction problems in the State of Jalisco, SSJ through CECAJ pointed out that the centers need to fulfill a series of requirements in their operations and services.
The authorities of the health sector announced that it is important that those citizens requiring help who come to these centers can check on the center's qualifications prior to entering treatment programs.
The CECAJ website identifies those facilities that have met the qualification requirements of operation.

Only 69 of the 250 rehabilitation centers are registered at the Federal level in compliance with NOM-028, which allows those centers to receive federal funding for their operations. Nine others are in the process of compliance.
Of the 250 rehabilitation centers in the State of Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta has 19; Zapopan has 34; Tonalá has 22; Tlaquepaque has 31; Guadalajara has 67; Tepatitlán has 19; La Barca has 17; Tamazula and Zapotlán El Grande have eleven each; Autlán has ten; Colotlán has three; Lagos de Moreno has five; and Ameca has one.
