Our Vision

The long-term goal is to establish a sustainable independent Foundation committed primarily to the provision of high-quality healthcare at the San Pancho General Hospital.

Ours is a modest attempt at a complementary approach that might be extended to other locations.

Among our aims is to purchase a Doppler ultrasound machine. This is an essential piece of equipment that is much required. But there are more pressing needs as well.

The Hospital

The story of our Hospital goes back to the 1970s when grand projects by the then national government were later defunded. Left behind were a number of buildings that are now used by local non-profits to look after urgent social, cultural and educational needs. The Hospital alone has remained in constant service as originally intended. As the little hospital that could.

Yet the needs have expanded with the growing numbers in population and visitors (who benefit from first-aid and other emergency care, at nominal fees). Currently the Hospital San Pancho cares for several towns and highway incidents in the area.

The Hospital has been in service for nearly fifty years. It now requires in its turn some backing from the public.

About Us

We are a group of volunteering locals and foreigners who aim to improve the area’s health and social conditions by acquiring and maintaining much-needed equipment such as ultrasound machines, etc. The equipment is given out to the Hospital on loan, free of charge.

The Foundation has no political, religious or for-profit affiliations whatsoever. Rather, a part of its mission is to unify the public around our great hospital and its outstanding and dedicated staff.

Our Foundation’s work also extends to other projects for the wellbeing of the community.

As of Sept. 2021, we hold “Donataria Autorizada” status from Mexico’s tax office. With our allied charities, we are now able to issue tax-deductible receipts for donations for all three North American countries. Read Our FAQs
