World Child Cancer’s vision is to see a world where every child with cancer has access to the best possible treatment and care.

Our mission is to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment and palliative care for children in low and middle income countries, tackling the global inequality in the treatment of childhood cancer.

We do this by establishing twinning partnerships linking hospitals in the developing world with hospitals in the developed world to provide a two-way transfer of expertise and skills to create locally appropriate solutions to the problem of childhood cancer in each country.

This expertise and knowledge sharing is generously donated for free by our network of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Over 400,000 children develop cancer worldwide each year. We believe that every child with cancer, wherever they live in the world, should have equal access to the best possible treatment and care.

Working in Mexico

World Child Cancer USA is supporting three hospitals in Mexico following an initial needs assessment visit in 2015. Around 800 childhood cancer cases are expected in the southeast region of Mexico. Many of these children do not have access to diagnosis or treatment due to distance to hospital and lack of awareness of the symptoms and curability of childhood cancer.

• A container of essential medical equipment provided to Hospital Regional Rio Blanco in Veracruz

• Awareness-raising videos produced in indigenous languages to reach families in marginalized communities

• Supporting families with the cost of essential medicines

• Providing parents and caregivers with craft materials for income-generating activities
