MOVii is an organization committed to equality and the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community. We work to promote inclusion, diversity and non-discrimination in all its forms.

We are people organized to defend the human rights of the population. We do communication, training, lobbying and counseling in favor of the LGBTIQ+ collective.

VINDICATE

• Demand full recognition of political, civil, social, economic, cultural, sexual and reproductive rights of the LGBTI population.
• To argue in an interdisciplinary manner in favor of equality as a transversal axis of laws and public policies in Mexico.
• Claim for the LGBTI movement the recognition and authorship of our actions and historical struggles.
• Strengthen leadership on LGBTI causes, above partisan or governmental interests.

DEMAND

• Demand celerity in the legislative processes to reform any federal, state or municipal norm that could imply any form of discrimination.
• Request the Congress of the Union, state congresses and town councils to organize forums and hearings to influence these legislative processes.
• Protest with legality to make visible the causes of the LGBTIQ+ movement.
• To question from a logic of legal and scientific argumentation those who oppose the legitimate demands of the LGBTIQ+ population.
• Reserve the right to complain or file a lawsuit before municipal, state, national or international authorities.

REFORM

• Identify, based on citizen proposals, any norm that could imply some form of discrimination, in order to modify them.
• To progressively transform the socio-cultural paradigm that sustains discrimination and inequality.
• To condition, correct, improve, perfect, renew and innovate the organizational mechanisms of the LGBTIQ+ movement.

Our History

In 2016, civil society organizations, activists of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Transvestite, Intersex, Queer and more (LGBTIQ) community, Human Rights defenders and citizens in general, were integrated in the Movement for Equality in Mexico (MOViiMX) to vindicate, claim and reform.

In 2023, Equality Movement Mexico reorganized itself to communicate, train and lobby for the recognition of human rights in general and of the LGBTIQ+ population in particular.
