Will you take a look at this cutie! He is about 3 months old and as playful as most puppies his age...full of energy and ready to play with dogs, cats, children or ??.
Tucker will be a medium size dog and will need regular exercise to stay healthy. John Van Patten, who is currently fostering Tucker, tells us Tucker is just a bundle of joy and when he wags his tail his whole body is set in motion. Guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone who sees this sight!
If you are interested in adopting Tucker please contact us at spcapv@gmail.com.
Adorable Cats Share the Spotlight...Mussolini & Mr. Bitey:
Mussolini is an orange cat and Mr. Bitey is orange and white. They are approximately 9 months old and are currently being fostered by our wonderful friend John. They are rather "big" kitties. They love to cuddle and are good with other pets - both dogs and cats.
The plight of Lucas & Bigotes: We have highlighted both Lucas and Bigotes a number of times and just want to send out yet another plea. These felines desperately need to find a new foster family if they have any hope of being adopted. The current foster family is unable to bring the cats to adoption days, thereby seriously hampering their chances of finding their forever home.
If you can volunteer as a foster family or are interested in any of these cats, please contact us at spcapv@gmail.com.

Shelter News:
We are so excited to announce our official opening day of January 3. However, even though our friends have been most generous with donations, there are still a number of items we MUST obtain before we can open our door for business. If you can help with any of the following items, please contact us at spcapv@gmail.com.
For the apartment where we will have a full time caretaker living we need
• Curtains
• Bed
• Night stand
• Sofa
• Chair
• Dining table
For the shelter we still need
• Dog bedding
• Towels
• Washer and dryer
• Metal cabinets with shelves that can be locked for medicines
• Desk and chairs for office
• Dog houses for dogs to keep warm at night
• Benches
• Stainless steel dishes for food and water
And finally, we need some trees to provide shade for various kennel areas within the shelter property.
Our thanks to Brad and Kevin for donating a new stainless steel lockable door knob, 4 new electrical wall plug ins, 10 new stainless steel cabinet pulls for drawers, 2 halogen fixtures and a few new electrical plates.
Adoption Locations:
The SPCA de Puerto Vallarta continues to host adoption events every Saturday at two popular locations:
1) Los Mangos Library: Biblioteca Los Mangos, on Avenida Francisco Villa, just past the Pemex station and around the corner from Costco. Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
2) Old Town Farmers Market: Our booth is now located on Pino Suarez, between V. Carranza and Basilio Badillo along El Jardin de Ninos Emiliano Zapata school. Time: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Everyone is welcome to come and play with the animals, chat with us about them and about the SPCA, and of course, think about adoptions!
Farmers Market:
Last Saturday was the second Saturday on the street for the Old Town Farmers Market and several people were interested in pet adoptions. About 3000 pesos was raised from SPCA merchandise sales, with a 500 peso donation from Nancy Hedges of Springfield Missouri. Many of the t-shirt and calendar sales were made to people looking for Christmas gifts. Visitors to PV that are looking for SPCA t-shirts and SPCA 2012 calendars can also purchase them at Cassandra Shaw Jewelry located at Basilio Badillo 276 in Old Town, open 7 days a week. Thanks to our volunteers: Mark, Lynnette and Doreen.
Los Mangos Library:
Even though the library was closed for the holiday season, we had a number of dogs and cats available for adoption. Luz reports the dogs really enjoyed the garden of the library where they ran around like crazy having loads of fun. We are so happy that Roxy was able to find her forever home. Our thanks to Jenny for her donation. We want to thank our volunteers: Luz, Jenny, Sandra, Maria de los Angeles, Angela, Madeline, Juan PA and Juan Carlos.
Currently, the SPCA de PV is selling calendars, bumper stickers, tote bags and tee shirts as a way to raise funds. You may buy any of these items at the Library or Farmers Market, or at Cassandra Shaw Jewelry located at 276 Basilio Badillo. (100% of the purchase price supports the SPCA de PV)
Happy Endings:
Roxy was adopted this past weekend by Miriam Arreola. What a sweetheart.
We are so happy that lovable Charley has found his forever home thanks to David Plotz. David is the editor for the Tribune and Charley is the second dog David has adopted from the SPCA, joining Paloma who David adopted a few months ago. A happy household for sure!
And previously, we mentioned the adoption of Lucas who went off to his new home in Canada where he enjoying his first experience with snow!
Remember, if anyone can accompany dogs to the US or Canada, please contact us at spcapv@gmail.com.
