In order to promote and increase art and the education quality, as well as to contribute with the artistic training in our country of Mexico, Iberica Contemporanea en Mexico has been developing since 2007 as an event called Santiago de Queretaro International Dance and Art Festival, which has been held every two years in the month of July, in the city of Santiago de Queretaro; a place where all of these dance figures come together projecting its culture, heritage and tradition, from Mexico to the world.
During its first three editions, it brought together the most important international exponents of Classical Dance and Spanish Dance in Mexico. The Festival also welcomes the artistic proposal of other expressions such as music, painting, sculpture, photography, gastronomy, film and textile design, in the most representative and emblematic forums, buildings and colonial courtyards of Queretaro and other cities in the center of Mexico.
This year, Puerto Vallarta has been invited to join in the events with the fourth edition festivities linking education and artistic training between the two cities.
Our local activities will begin on Thursday, July 11, at 5:00 pm with the inauguration Photo Exposition "Art in Motion" inside Plaza Caracol. The photos will bring to life the beauty and fluidity of the Iberica dance moves. The exhibition will be in place until July 30.
On Friday, July 12, the doors of Teatro Vallarta will open at 7:30 for the Spanish Dance Gala performed by the Larreal Choreography Workshop from the Mariemma Royal Dance Conservatory.
